In the last little while we've been talking about evolving our old liturgy (BELLS) into something new, we wanted to keep our rhythm and extend it at the same time. So we've kept our action words like look and listen but we added some expressions that we all agree speak about attitude, like attentiveness, authenticity and availability. The new rhythm's grown a bit and left a bit more room in the lounge gathering for a bit more variety but it's still a beautifully simple week by week patter that we all get involved in. Check it out!

Our Weekly Rhythm

We use our rhythm as a guide for a healthy spiritual lifestyle. We want to be reminded together to ask one another these questions:

Look – How can I be attentive to God and to others this week? What have I seen or heard of God’s work in my world?

Listen – To whom can I make myself vulnerable this week & in what ways have I opened myself others?

Learn – What have I learned from God’s Word this week & in what ways am I seeking to embody that learning?

Live – How can I make myself available to God for his purposes this week?

Our Liturgy in the Lounge

LOOK!

We will be a people who are attentive to God and to others. That requires us to look, truly look, at God and his world. We will do this by using songs, prayers, the Lord’s Supper and other worship elements. Each week we will look in the following ways:

Looking...

...to God in song (1st Sunday)

...to Jesus in communion (2nd Sunday)

...to the Spirit in prayer (3rd Sunday)

...to God’s world as shalom/broken shalom (4th Sunday)

LISTEN!

We will be a people who are open and authentic with God and with others. Each week we will seek to be vulnerable and honest by listening to each other sharing the yearnings of our hearts, bringing them honestly to God. We will do this by:

Listening...

...to the cry of our heart in confession and repentance (1st Sunday)

...to each others’ joys, doubts and fears (2nd Sunday)

...to overflow of our faith in open mic sharing (3rd Sunday)

...to each others’ joys, doubts and fear (4th Sunday)

LEARN!

We will be a people who absorb God’s Word as our guide and authority and desire to regularly learn from it together and to respond to the claims it makes on our lives. As directed by the Spirit, we will humble ourselves to be shaped by biblical teaching presented to us in a variety of styles (discussion, silent reading, talks, and more) as facilitated by gifted teachers.

LIVE!

We will be a people who remain available to God and others, as he uses us to create a just, safe and beautiful world. Each week we will have an opportunity to respond to God’s Word and to the needs of those around us. We will do this by:

Living...

...out our sentness (1st Sunday)

...out God’s commands to give (2nd Sunday)

...out God’s commands to go (3rd Sunday)

...out our sentness (4th Sunday)
